My name is Alyssa Ellis and I am a CSFA/CST which is a Certified Surgical First Assistant as well as a Certified Surgical Technologist. I have been in the surgical field for more than 16 years and have a real passion for teaching. I grew up in a small town in Idaho and from there moved to Utah where I graduated High School in the small town of Payson, Utah. Utah is where my surgical career began. I went to school at Ameritech College in Provo, Utah where finishing I got hired at my clinical site at UVRMC in Provo, Utah.

From there, I moved to Vegas and have been here for the past almost 14 years. Nobody believes me when I tell them I have 5 kids, yes 5! I joke that my current husband didn’t have any kids when we met (I had 3 already) so I sacrificed my body two more times so he could experience the joy (and financial strain) of having kids!

I’ve only worked in hospitals, with one being a level 1 trauma facility where I was at for about 7 years. I absolutely love my job and what I do, which is what made me want to advance my career from a Surgical Tech to a Certified Surgical First Assistant. I have been in this new role for a little over 3 years now and I’m absolutely loving it!

Through the past couple of years I’ve realized something was missing, and about November of this past year (2024) I turned to TikTok to do the thing I love, TEACH. I’m not sure I was fully prepared for what would happen next when I suddenly completely blew up! One sarcastic whisper story later and I was a legend. It’s very surreal and I have to keep reminding others that I’m really just a normal person, like you, trying to be my best and do the best in my career. But now I have this opportunity to help others succeed, and words can’t describe how fulfilled I have felt since beginning this journey.
